The first issue of Asian Journal of Urology is officially launched

Asian Journal of Urology, sponsored by Shanghai Association for Science & Technology (SAST) and The Second Military Medical University (SMMU), was launched in October 2014, after preparation of 8-month period. The publication of Asian Journal of Urology fills the gap of development of China’s comprehensive urological journals, promote the international academic communication of urological researches, and enhance China’s influence in the global urological arena.

Strictly following the international editorial conventions, sponsored by Asian Journal of Urology sticks to the tenet of internationalization. Firstly, the international editorial board is established. The board members come from China (Including Taiwan and Hong Kong), USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Finland, etc. (82% are outside China). Secondly, the international submission is advocated. Over 80% submissions are from countries and areas other than Mainland China. Thirdly, Thomson Reuters’ ScholarOneTM online submission and review system is used for international peer review. Fourthly, Asian Journal of Urology is co-published by SMMU and the world’s leading academic publisher Elsevier. All articles published in Asian Journal of Urology are indexed in Elsevier’s database ScienceDirect (http://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/asian-journal-of-urology) and the fulltexts are available for researchers around the world.
